I work with founders, CEOs, CTOs, and boards when technical choices have company-level consequences. I am available for formal or informal advisory board roles, especially with technical B2B, SaaS, infrastructure, cloud, and founder-led companies.

Where I help

  • Advisory board roles for technical companies.
  • Board-level technical risk review and explanation.
  • Founder and CEO sparring on technical strategy.
  • CTO mentoring, hiring, and engineering leadership support.
  • Product and engineering strategy.
  • Architecture second opinions and technical decision review.
  • Investor or portfolio company support when technical clarity matters.

Advisory board work

My background is operator-side: building, scaling, selling, and integrating companies. I bring that judgment into board-level and advisory conversations: companies where I had a stake, DNS Belgium (the non-profit behind the .be TLD), Voka mentorship, expert calls, and founders or leaders who need an outside technical view before making a hard decision.

I am useful when the board needs to understand technical risk without getting buried in implementation detail. I challenge assumptions, translate the technical reality into business consequences, and help teams move without turning every decision into a committee.

Founder and CTO advisory

  • What to build now versus what can wait.
  • Whether the architecture is good enough for the next stage.
  • How to structure the engineering team.
  • How to explain technical risk to investors or board members.
  • When to hire senior technical leadership.
  • How to recover from stalled delivery or unclear ownership.

Kubernetes and infrastructure

My primary managed Kubernetes work is through Krane Labs. Through Kiwazo, I am available for vendor-neutral second opinions, architecture review, technical risk assessment, investor diligence, and infrastructure strategy.

Security

For dedicated security work, see Secure11. Through Kiwazo, I cover security when it is part of board risk, due diligence, CTO advisory, or infrastructure review.

How engagements work

  • Formal advisory board seat.
  • Monthly advisory retainer.
  • One-off technical review.
  • Founder or CTO sparring sessions.
  • Investor or board briefing.
